FARMERS UPDATE 14/2/21

Latest developments - with 32 updates. Sunday 14th Feb : Be Informed, Be Active

1. Our brother, Lakha Singh Sidhana location was raided this morning by Police, but he had already left. Badal owned PTC Channel ran a story that he was arrested, by its not true.

2. 1 lac bounty was placed on him. Sidhana an Ex Gangster turned Social Activist has been arrested today. Another prolific capture and Govt attempts to stop the power of the Youth. Sidhana has become very well respected at the grassroots level over the last few years, including in his role as the president of the Malwa Youth Federation, an organization dedicated to the revitalization of Punjabi culture and youth. In 2017, Sidhana was arrested for leading a group of youth to paint over state highway signs that were written in Hindi and English but left the Punjabi ones untouched. People trust him. Sidhana says two things shook him out of the life of a paid thug - Vahiguru and books. He talks about how during stints in jail he read Sikh history books about Bhagat Singh and Banda Singh Bahudar. It was a near-death encounter when a bullet entered the back of his head that showed him that the gangster life is not what he wanted for himself.”

3. The Badals are desperate for Lakha to be killed or in jail, as he openly speaks about their crimes against the Panth since 1978.

4. Amritsar has recorded only 34.2% polling till now in the first half of the day (Nagar Nigam Elections). Most people don’t want to vote for duo of Akalis and Congress. AAP faring well. BJP in 4th & last position. People in Punjab wanting youth like Lakha and others to come forward and new options, they have no faith in these old parties.

22. Arnab Goswami’s Republic TV has served a cease and desist notice to media trade portal BestMediaInfo.com asking it not to publish a news report claiming that several companies had cancelled advertising contracts with the channel since October, the website reported on Friday. “The brands apparently acted after BestMediaInfo.com published a news report (dated September 28, 2020) about advertisers asking news channels to stop broadcasting toxic content,” the website claimed. “The news report led to a wider discussion on the subject, with more advertisers echoing the same views.”

23. Delhi Police Cyber Cell arrested 21-year-old climate activist Disha Ravi from Bengaluru on 13th February for her alleged role in spreading 'toolkit' related to farmers protest. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

24. In an immediate response, Karuna Nundy, an Indian supreme court lawyer, tweeted: “Disha’s the daughter of a single mother. Allegations of criminality are ludicrous, to arrest in such a case more so.”

25. Disha Ravi broke down in court room and told judge that she had merely edited two lines in the toolkit and was supporting farmers. What is wrong in that? This is how this nation treats anyone who spreads awareness.
