1. Two farmers passed away today. Baghel Singh passed away at Tikri Border. Nirmal Singh passed away at Singhu border. 

2. A farmer named Jagbhavan has consumed poison at Tikri Border. He has been rushed to hospital and is said to be in critical condition. He wrote a letter before consuming poison citing his helplessness & that govt is not listening to farmers.

3. Many more Sikh youths and parcharaks were served with NIA notices today. 

4. NDTV Ravish Kumar covers to story of farmer leader Surinder Singh Sidhu of Madya Pradesh. He brought thousands of farmers to morcha from Gwalior area before passing away on 13th January. Previously he was a BJP supporter who helped Agriculture Minister Tomar get elected. Tomar never even tweeted any condolence, however his opponents did. It’s does not matter how much indianess you show and even support BJP, this Modi govt has no regard for you. 

5. A large gathering of thousands of sikh  women in Punjab to condemn BJP leader Harjit Grewal in the his native village. (Pictures below) 

6. Republic day parade - Talks are underway between farmer leaders and UP, Haryana and Delhi police officials about 26th January’s tractor march.

7. Supreme Court now 3 member committee met today. One of their members had resigned. Recognizing the backlash from farmers as all four had already made public statements in favour of the laws. They said "Just because a person has expressed a view on the matter, that is not a ground for disqualification to be a member of a committee."  🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Well actually it should be due them now being bias. Nobody is accepted in any jury if they already have a preconceived viewpoint or outcome.

8. Shiv Kumar Kakka retracted his statement in which he had alleged that respected farmer leader Gurnam singh Chaduni got funding from a political party.

9. Delhi CM says these are the worst laws in India’s history and called for proper implementation of MSP. “Implementation of swaminathan commission will benefit every farmer of India but implementing these 3 farm laws will only benefit 4 people”. 

10. Saving Punjab - 86% of Punjabi farmers are in debt due to government conspiracies.

11. UK MP Tanmanjit Singh Dhesi questions UK Foreign Secretary about harassment via NIA and brutal treatment of farmers in India. 

12. Jasveer Singh from Sikh PA tweeted, “This is actually a big step. The Foreign Secretary has been directly questioned on India's weaponisation of their law enforcers in parliament. With such moves, no one can pretend they don't know what India is about or what Sikhs face in the nation.”

13. Mother-Daughter duo from Australia travelled to India in support of Farmers movement. 

14. In political games, the irrelevant Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi criticized new farm laws saying that laws will destroy the agriculture sector. Rahul claimed that repealing the new farm laws is the only solution. Rahul went on to say that he is 100 percent with farmers.

16. On 16 January, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had summoned Amanpreet Singh, director of the humanitarian NGO Khalsa Aid India, and some of its other trustees, asking them to depose before it. Two days later, it was announced that the United Kingdom-based NGO was nominated for Nobel Peace Prize. Now, the NIA has reportedly postponed the examination of the NGO's members.

17. #Arnabgate is filtering through the Indian news media as they see the extent of Arnab Goswami crimes while lecturing India on nationalism via Repulic TV. Times Now’s Navika Kumar delivered an eight-minute monologue recalling Goswami as her boss. ‘I wish he had not forgotten values in his quest for success’. 

18. NDTV Ravish Kumar asks the questions, why are NIA concerned with farmers but not Arnab Goswami illegal behaviour in breach of official secrets act.
