Sikhi Game of love- PILLARS

PILLARS

Ask any structural engineer and they will tell you of the importance of their role. If they get the design wrong on a building or bridge it could cause the structure to come crashing down.

They do detailed calculations to establish what sorts of pillars and other supports will be required to keep a building standing.

Similarly, people also sometimes needs support to deal with the tough times that we all occasionally face in our lives, such as a health issue, or financial hardships etc.

Importantly, our minds also need support. Without any support our minds can also face destruction by getting influenced by all the things that go on around us in the material world.

The only support for the mind is the Gurshabad (word of the Guru) and Gurmantar (Guru’s Mantra). Both of these give the mind the strength to deal with all the false worldly distractions and remain unaffected.

As gursikhs it is incumbent upon us to ensure that we engage in the practise of Naam meditation and the reciting of Gurbani to keep our mind supported, grounded and positively energised at all times.

Guru Arjan Dev jee blesses us with the following example in Sukhmani Sahib.

Jio Mandhar Ko Thhaamai Thhanman ||
As a palace is supported by its pillars,

Thio Gur Kaa Sabadh Manehi Asathhanman ||
So does the Guru's Word support the mind.

Vaheguroo!
